The Sooz and I went on a cross-border Victoria Day long weekend to explore some California soil and visit my little brother. After some initial hick-ups with a very delayed and then almost-missed flight we made to San Fran in the wee hours on Friday morning. Spent Friday and Saturday exploring the city in glorious sunshine. Then went on to venture south to Monterrey, Carmel and Santa Cruz, and north to Muir Woods and Point Reyes in more glorious sunshine. It was super nice to experience the city without having to share it with 20,000 geoscientists :) My personal highlights were the awesome pizza place at Washington Square, and California Academy of Science in Golden Gate Park.
