Blog should be back to normal now!
And while I'm sitting here updating I may as well write a little post. (Mostly because I'm supposed to work but it's Sunday and I really really really don't feel like it at all...)
So what's new? I've been working an insane amount. In between work, it was of course also Susi's birthday. I left work early and Susi and I got started on the G&T around 2 PM. A bunch of friends joined us in the evening and a great BBQ was held. Good times! As always in the summer we also had heaps of visitors/people staying at our humble little pad. After my brother in July there were Susi's sister plus a friend, Karen came up from Seattle, our new PhD student Anna stayed for a couple nights, and last but not least Reka plus Peter and cat Fermi hung out for a bit. Fuji-san and Miss Marple moved into my room for safety, so they had a little vacation from their living room view. I think they enjoyed it!
With the weather being more fall like than summer like we went to the movies a couple of times. Paranoia was good (Susi and I definitely agreed on Liam Hemsworth's deliciousness this time...), and so was The Conjuring. The latter was definitely NOT the most terrifying movie I've ever seen, despite what the trailer suggested, JOSH!!
Now the term is in full swing, and with it all my grad council/Let's talk science/museum activities. Took the new grads out for beers and some appies on Friday, and had a blast! Susi went to the Yukon on Tuesday, but she's gonna be back tonight, so I'm gonna make some dinner. Other than that the week is gonna be packed with work, gym, eat. A bunch more grad council/group meeting/class/TA duties are going in the mix, and Friday it's finally time to fly to BRISTOL! Can. Not. Wait! I'll be coming back here for a two day workshop, and then I'm off to DC for a week. I'll be crazy busy again when I get back, with paper writing, proposal writing and the rest of the term stuff. I'll try to put up another post or two before Christmas, but don't judge me if don't get around to it... (It's crazy to think about Christmas already, but this fall is just so BUSY!).
